Puff Pastry Truffle Pizza (Printable)

Crispy puff pastry layered with figs, goat cheese, truffle oil, and honey for a perfect savory-sweet balance.

# What You'll Need:

→ Puff Pastry Base

01 - 1 sheet thawed puff pastry (approx. 8.8 oz)

→ Toppings

02 - 4 to 5 fresh figs, sliced
03 - 4.2 oz crumbled goat cheese
04 - 1 tablespoon truffle oil
05 - 2 tablespoons honey
06 - 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
07 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
08 - Sea salt, to taste
09 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Roll out the puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Score a 0.4 inch border around the edges, taking care not to cut through completely.
03 - Brush the interior of the pastry, excluding the border, lightly with olive oil.
04 - Evenly arrange the sliced figs over the brushed pastry, keeping the border clear.
05 - Sprinkle the crumbled goat cheese over the figs and scatter fresh thyme leaves if using.
06 - Drizzle half of the truffle oil over the toppings, then season lightly with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
07 - Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the pastry is golden and puffy.
08 - Remove from oven and while still warm, drizzle with remaining truffle oil and honey. Slice and serve immediately.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It looks like you spent hours in the kitchen when it actually takes less time than ordering takeout.
  • The contrast of crispy pastry, creamy cheese, and sweet fig creates a flavor moment that feels indulgent without being heavy.
  • You can prep everything in advance and just pop it in the oven when guests arrive.
02 -
  • Truffle oil is potent—a little goes a long way, which is why we split it between before and after baking for maximum impact without overwhelming the other flavors.
  • Don't skip the border scoring step; it's what allows the pastry to puff dramatically and gives you those crispy, distinguished edges.
03 -
  • Buy good truffle oil—the cheap versions taste metallic, and since it's the star of the show, it's worth the investment.
  • If your puff pastry sheet seems slightly small, don't stretch it aggressively; let it rest on the pan for a few minutes and it will relax and expand naturally.
