# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • Genuinely keto and gluten-free — the homemade bread uses almond flour and coconut flour, keeping net carbs at just 4 g per serving.
  • Packed with protein and healthy fats — at 17 g protein and 23 g fat per serving, these toasts keep you full for hours.
  • Ready in 35 minutes — simple enough for a busy weekday morning, impressive enough for a relaxed weekend brunch spread.
  • Endlessly adaptable — swap the salmon, adjust the seasoning, or make it dairy-free with a single ingredient change.
  • Only 315 calories per serving — satisfying without the guilt that often follows a classic brunch.
02 -
  • Rub with garlic: For extra flavor, rub a peeled garlic clove over the hot toast before adding avocado — it makes a surprising difference.
  • Cool completely: Resist slicing the bread while it is still warm; a fully cooled loaf gives you clean, even slices that hold their shape under the toppings.
  • Lemon keeps it green: Stir the lemon juice into the mashed avocado immediately to slow oxidation and keep the spread vibrant and fresh-looking.
  • Light toasting is optional but recommended: A brief toast adds a satisfying crunch that contrasts beautifully with the creamy avocado and silky salmon.
  • Check allergen labels: Everything bagel seasoning blends vary by brand — always check labels for hidden allergens, especially sesame, which is a major allergen in many countries.
  • Dairy-free swap: Replace the melted butter with the same quantity of olive oil for a fully dairy-free loaf without sacrificing texture.
