# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It comes together in under twenty minutes, perfect for when you need something hearty without the fuss.
  • Kids and adults genuinely get excited about this, which rarely happens with the same dish.
  • The contrast between the warm, melty cheese and crispy nuggets is just plain satisfying.
02 -
  • Cold chicken nuggets will throw off your timing and won't meld with the cheese the way warm ones do, so I always make sure they're at least room temperature before building.
  • Medium heat is your friend here—too high and your bread burns before the cheese melts, too low and it gets pale and sad instead of golden and crispy.
03 -
  • Make sure your nuggets are actually warm before assembling—cold nuggets won't melt into the cheese the way you want them to, and they'll throw off your cook time entirely.
  • Use a spatula with a thin edge when flipping so you can slide under the whole sandwich without it folding over and spilling nuggets everywhere, which I've definitely done before.
